Bro. Jonathan grew up in Travelers Rest, SC and faithfully attended Truth Missionary Baptist Church where he had the privilege to be under the leadership of Pastor Sammy Kay and the musical influence of Brother Jim Burns. He was saved at the young age of 5 and desired from an early age to work in the music ministry at a local church. Jonathan and his wife, April, were married on October 6, 2007 and the Lord has wondrously blessed them with 4 children, Joseph, Rachel, Grace, and Sarah. Mrs. April was saved at the age of 4 and loved music from a young age. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2007 and has taught music in local Christian schools. She is currently teaching music classes at Bethany Christian Academy, as well as working in the office and teaching Language Arts to our 5th and 6th graders.
The Swangers first came to Bethany Baptist Church in the fall of 2010. In 2012, Brother Jonathan started leading the music and Mrs. April became the church pianist. They love this ministry and are so thankful God has allowed them to work alongside Pastor Chism and his family.
